Years ago when our local mall opened it had two bookstores.  A Waldenbooks and a B. Dalton.  Eventually both closed down.  That left a Hastings in the mall.  Hastings sold books, magazines, music, videos and games.  Then Hastings left the mall and moved down the street to their own building.  Now years later the Hastings store is closing as well.  That means no more bookstores in our entire area.  In fact even in the larger cities I have noticed bookstores closing down.  I will miss them since I enjoyed browsing their shelves and finding some literary gem.

Dang, that sucks. We used to have a Borders in the city I'm currently living, but that shut down, and all we have left now is Barnes & Noble, mainly.

As nice as online shopping is, the biggest flaw when it comes to selling books is that you're unable to browse through the book freely before buying it so you can determine if it's a good choice to purchase or not.
